I am a firm believer that the stronger the therapeutic relationship, the better client outcomes will be. An alliance with me will be reliable, warm, and genuine. I will sit with you in your time of need and allow you to be who you are without judgment; it is my greatest hope that we all learn to sit with ourselves in this same way. I am trained in a variety of evidenced based models BUT the clients I work with find comfort in having a clinician who can put the person before any treatment manual. The goal with this type of approach is to foster a relational experience that is supportive, caring, and respectful so that you can develop the same type of relationship with yourself and become your own best resource. Together we will work to acknowledge oppressive systems, beliefs, and relationships and help you claim your self-worth in spite of it all. I will dedicate my energy to helping live your life in a way that will bring you peace.
I promise to respect your autonomy and as such will individualize the time we spend together to meet your needs. My therapeutic approach is most strongly influenced by Humanistic, Relational Cultural, and Compassion Focused theoretical perspectives. I have also been trained in and utilize aspects of Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy for OCD, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), the ARC-GROW caregiver model, Parent Child Interaction Training (PCIT), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Brainspotting, Hatha and Pre-Natal Yoga, Meditation, and Mindfulness interventions, and have specialty certifications in tele-health, forensic evaluation, and compassion fatigue. I have an Ed.S. in Counselor Education and Supervision and I teach college classes in the field of human services. I am also uniquely qualified to support professionals who have experienced significant career challenges like compassion fatigue, burn out, licensure issues, malpractice suits, and/or disciplinary actions.
As a clinician, I am dedicated to fostering an anti-oppressive practice. I aim to educate myself often and regularly about our differences so that I may be an instrument in bringing us all closer together.
I am honored that you have taken the time to get to know me.
